Russians support a legislative ban on depriving children of meat

In October 2023, the State Duma received a legislative proposal prohibit vegetarianism and raw food diet for minors. As shown survey VTsIOM, two-thirds of Russians surveyed approve of such an initiative, and every second said that they fully support it. There are especially many supporters of the ban among women and people in the age group 45–59 years (79% each).

The survey also revealed that only 1% of Russians consider themselves vegetarians. The absolute majority (98%) do not practice such a food system. At the same time, every second person is sure that giving up meat is more likely to harm health.
