Russians plan to play games and watch streams for the New Year

About a quarter of Russians plan to play video games on New Year’s Eve, and 17% plan to watch video game streams. This is stated in the VK Play study of over 1.2 thousand Russians over 18 years old. It turned out that about half of the respondents play video games, of which 63% play every day. The most popular gaming device is the computer (71%), followed by the phone (53%) and game console (10%).
79% of respondents would like a video game as a gift for the New Year, while about a third are ready to spend more money on games during the New Year holidays than usual. More than half can invest up to 1 thousand rubles, 17% – more than 5 thousand rubles, and 2% are going to invest in the amount from 30 thousand to 50 thousand rubles.
In general, about a quarter are going to spend up to two hours a day playing games on holidays, 20% – four hours a day, and 16% – more than six hours a day. One in five plans to play video games several times a week. A third of Russians consider games to be family leisure and play with loved ones.
