Russia is working on a visa-free regime with the countries of the Persian Gulf
The Russian authorities are discussing the conclusion of visa-free agreements with a number of countries in the Persian Gulf. This was announced on Monday, May 8, by the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Reshetnikov.
Reshetnikov specified that Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and Saudi Arabia are among such states. In addition, it is planned to launch an agreement on visa-free group tourist trips with Iran.
The Minister called the countries of the Middle East the key partners of Russia in the field of tourism at the present time.
Anti-Russian sanctions have reduced the number of countries open to Russian tourists. In early March, citizens of the Russian Federation could visit 11 states without issuing visas, then Mozambique joined.
The Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) admitted that by the end of May 2023 visa-free flight regime for groups between Russia and China. Some internal issues remain unresolved, but this topic is planned to be closed in the near future.
