Russians have become more optimistic about the risks associated with work

The majority of working Russians are confident in the future, a survey conducted by Romir as part of the independent sociological study of the labor market Talentist showed. By the end of 2023, the share of respondents assessing the risk of job loss as low increased to 69% compared to 63% a year earlier. The share of those who believe in the opportunity, if necessary, to find a similar job in their region increased from 58% to 66%. In 2024, further growth in both indicators is predicted. Also, respondents became less afraid of salary delays, non-payment of bonuses, forced downtime and unpaid vacations.

The survey found that women and younger workers are less likely to feel anxious about work. Geographically, the lowest proportion of people fearing job loss was found in the Urals (21%) and the North Caucasus (24%), the highest in the Far East (38%) and Siberia (36%). In terms of industries, the most optimistic are workers in the financial sector (71%), industry, medicine and education (70% each). In general, experts attribute the decrease in anxiety to the current situation on the labor market: very low unemployment, companies are constantly experiencing a shortage of personnel.
