Belgorod authorities advised city residents to seal their windows with tape to protect them from explosions
The Belgorod mayor’s office has issued a recommendation for citizens to improve security. The message, citing rescuers from the Civil Defense Emergency Service, states that citizens of the regional capital should cover the glass in their windows with adhesive tape.
“It’s better to glue it crosswise, going around the entire perimeter of the window,” the message says.
Officials noted that “this is a good way to protect them from the blast wave,” since with this method of protection “the glass will not shatter into small fragments.”
On the night of Friday, January 5, it was reported that air defense systems were operating over the Belgorod region. The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that air defense systems destroyed 10 Ukrainian missiles. Regional Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov reported two casualties.
