The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) disqualified freestyle wrestler Abdusalam Gadisov for four years.
The Russian athlete passed the out-of-competition test on August 6, 2015. Then, during analysis at the anti-doping laboratory in Moscow, Gadisov’s sample was declared clean. However, the sample was left for long-term storage and during analysis carried out in the Lausanne laboratory (April 2020), traces of the prohibited substance dehydrochlormethyltestosterone were found.
WADA and RUSADA later filed appeals with CAS. The court examined the case and decided: the wrestler committed a violation of anti-doping rules. Now all of Gadisov’s results from August 6, 2015 to August 5, 2019 should be canceled.
The 2014 world champion Gadisov is now 34 years old.
