Rustam Nabiev from Ufa, who was left several years ago as a result of the collapse of the barracks in Omsk without both legs, began climbing to the top of Acongagua (6962m). Now the man is at an altitude of 3150 m.

As Rustam said in his social media profile, he flew to Argentina on January 7 and was in Latin America 50 hours later. Nabiyev started climbing the summit on January 13 and plans to overcome the entire route in 10-12 days. Rustam said in social networks that the period of acclimatization is now passing. The climber has already overcome two base camps at an altitude of 2350 m and 3150 m. The next stop is planned at an altitude of 4100 or 4600 m.

– Will I be the first person to climb its summit on one hand? We’ll find out in a couple of weeks. Yesterday I was driving a car and looked at the beauty around and suddenly caught myself thinking: Rustam, this is the Andes! Andes!!! I saw these mountains only at school, in a geography textbook. I colored them and marked them on the contour map. Who would have thought that after so many years I would be climbing them,” the brave climber wrote on his social media page.

Behind Nabiev there is already Elbrus, Kazbek, Kilimanjaro and Manaslu. Rustam admitted to subscribers that not only enormous loads in the gym help him to overcome the peaks on his hands, but also the visualization of future actions.

– Closing my eyes, I imagined how I reach the highest mark. There are people around me. They clap for me, I see all this and start crying,” Rustam shared. – You can say that I go to the future and live it. I cry here and there. Because my emotions coincide with this moment, with the present and with the future.
