The Turkish newspaper Yeni Akit reports that a Russian travel agency has sent its clients to the Turkish city of Mardin instead of the Spanish capital of Madrid. According to the publication, customers realized that they had arrived in another city only after arriving at the airport in Turkey.
Tourism entrepreneur Bekir Falay attributed the incident to a mistake by a Russian travel agency. According to him, a request came from Russia for a trip to Madrid, but the agency booked a ticket to Mardin via Istanbul instead of Madrid. Falay noted that after arriving in Mardin, customers were in for an unpleasant surprise, and they were amazed by what happened. At the same time, the entrepreneur noticed that the tourists were well received, and they spent a good day in the city.
Aslan Pashaoglu, President of the Association of Tourism Enterprises of Mardin, in turn, noted that tourists, despite their surprise, liked the city very much. It is noted that the tourists left the city the very next day, taking a flight to Madrid with a transfer in Istanbul.
