A circus performance in Vladivostok was marked by an embarrassment with the tiger Thunder, who did not want to follow the trainer’s commands and allowed himself to relieve himself directly in the arena.

According to video recordings from spectators, the predator performed a trick with a large ball depicting planet Earth. The essence of the act is that a large ball with an animal is raised to a height of about 8 meters, and in the air the predator walks along the “planet”. When the act came to an end and the ball was lowered to the floor, the trainer gave the command to jump, but the tiger did not want to get off. Despite the artist’s persistent attempts to make the tiger get off, he stubbornly sat on the “Earth” and at some point began to defecate.

According to Zapashny, the tiger Grom “has always been happy to perform this trick for 7 years,” but this is the first time something like this has happened. However, he insists that disobedience and defecation are not evidence that the animal may be experiencing stress. The trainer believes that critics of the circus’s practice of working with animals “will not make it out of this hype.”

“Well, what do the spectators need? Bread and circuses,” added the trainer. “Well, this is some kind of spectacle.”

Previously, the New People party introduced to the State Duma bill, proposing to ban the use of animals in circuses. The authors of the initiative, citing data from the Prosecutor General’s Office, indicated that the number of cases of cruelty to circus animals is growing in Russia. The explanatory note also stated that circuses “often do not ensure the absence of cruelty” to animals and “an appropriate level of care,” which can lead “to their physical and psychological problems, increased aggression and suffering.” Edgard Zapashny in response to the appearance of the bill statedthat this is “ordinary hype and a lot of lies,” and also that “this is said by a party with a five percent level of support.”
