The organizers of the Challenger series tournament in the Polish village of Kozerki asked tennis players from Russia and Belarus not to participate in the competition due to the situation in Ukraine. The Challenger 100 tournament will take place from 14 to 19 August.
On the official website competitions, a separate “pay attention” clause appeared, which also states that players representing Russia and Belarus will not be invited to the tournament and the territory of the Kozerka complex as a whole. “For these people, we do not guarantee a place on the territory of the Academy,” the message says.
The Challenger is a secondary professional tennis tournament organized by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP). After the start of the special operation, Russian and Belarusian athletes are allowed to compete under the auspices of the ATP and WTA only in a neutral status.
