Russian tennis player Varvara Gracheva explained why she decided to change her citizenship to French. Her words are quoted by the portal Sport.pl.
The athlete said that she made this decision before the start of the pandemic. According to her, she has been living in France for more than six years, she has a good training base here.
She also confessed her love for French culture, people and lifestyle.
“I have friends here, I feel good in France,” she said.
The 22-year-old tennis player clarified that she had already applied and was waiting for a French passport. From Russia, according to her, no one contacted her on this issue.
Gracheva is currently ranked 41st in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) rankings.
