The Ministry of Education of Russia proposes to expand the list of award-winning teachers who will not have to pay taxes on the awards received. The corresponding draft resolution of the Government of Russia has been submitted for public discussion.
Today’s list of tax-free educational awards was approved by the Russian government back in 2001. This is both an award of the Government itself for success in the field of education, and the Lomonosov Prize (it is awarded for pedagogical activity to professors and other teachers of Moscow State University), an award to winners and prize-winners of national and international championships in professional skills according to WorldSkills standards and their coaches, winners All-Russian competitions “Big break” and “Your move”.
Over the past two decades, the list of awards in the field of education has grown. In the new version of the resolution, the list is supplemented by professionals who have received the awards “Teacher of the Year of Russia”, “Educator of the Year of Russia”, “Director of the Year of Russia”, as well as winners of the competitions of professional skills “Pedagogue-psychologist” and “Teacher-defectologist of Russia”. For teachers who give the younger generation a secondary vocational education, the “Master of the Year” award was established, additional education – “I give my heart to children.” In addition, there is the “First Teacher” award. Once the ordinance is signed, the winners of these competitions will not have to pay taxes on their prizes.
