“The crew of the Russian fighter jet identified the air targets as the R-3C Orion base patrol aircraft of the German Navy and the Atlantic-2 anti-submarine patrol aircraft of the French Navy,” the message says.
As a result, no violation of the border of the Russian Federation was allowed. After the turn of foreign aircraft from the Russian border, the Su-27 returned to its base airfield. It is emphasized that the Russian fighter flew without crossing air routes and dangerously approaching foreign aircraft.
The last time the Russian military discovered over the Baltic Sea, the base patrol aircraft P-3C “Orion” of the German Navy on April 12. It was reported that the aircraft was approaching the Russian border. As a result, a Su-27 fighter was lifted into the air, which deployed a foreign aircraft, and then returned to the airfield. There were also no violations of the border, the Ministry of Defense stressed.
March 20 over the Baltic Sea have been identified two US Air Force B-52H strategic bombers heading towards the Russian border. They were escorted by a Su-35 fighter.
