Lukashenko explained the increase in the combat readiness of the army of Belarus

The Belarusian army has been in a state of high combat readiness for several days now. This was announced on Monday, May 15, by the head of state Alexander Lukashenko.

The politician visited the central command post of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces of Belarus, where he asked to be told about the situation “without great reports.” He noted that the situation in the country is not critical, but indicated that there are alarming factors.

According to Lukashenko, the Belarusian army was put on high alert after a series of incidents in the neighboring Bryansk region of the Russian Federation – the Armed Forces of Ukraine again made attempts to shell the Russian region, including using drones. The President of Belarus said that “we were forced to react to this.”

Commander of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces of Belarus Andrei Lukyanovich said that, taking into account the situation, additional forces and means are being attracted, from 750 to 1 thousand people take up combat duty in air defense every day. The next check of the duty air defense forces of Belarus was carried out on May 11 – this type of troops coped with the tasks, BelTA informs.

Earlier, Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin assured that Belarus would do everything to ensure that no one dared to tell Belarusians how to live on their native land. He stressed that the Belarusian army “ready to fight back”.

Political scientist Alexander Shpakovsky recalled that Russia and Belarus have an allied doctrine and defense plans in case of external aggression, there is a regional group of troops of the Union State. The expert also pointed out that the build-up of the NATO military presence near the borders of Belarus is not a trend of today, but happened permanently.
