Russian student harassed at Edinburgh University for supporting SVO

Russian student Andrei Komarov complained that he faced bullying from other students at the University of Edinburgh because he supported a special military operation and refused to condemn his country.
According to him, the bullying began after he invited several students to watch the May 9 parade in his dormitory. There he had an argument with a student from Lithuania about the events in Bucha. Komarov said that he said then during the discussion that Western media were distorting reality and that he considered it unacceptable to condemn his country.
The Russian says that his opponent complained about him to student communities, distorting his words. After this, the Ukrainian community of the University got involved and bullying began on the Internet and partly in real life. As a result, the students wrote a letter to the university management demanding that the Russian be “removed” from the university.
Komarov said that the most offensive thing was that some Russian citizens who condemned their country in February 2022 participated in the persecution. As for the university, it did nothing in this situation, despite the legislative ban on online bullying.
