Soldiers of the Western group of troops of the Armed Forces (AF) of Russia captured two groups of Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers, writes RIA Novosti with reference to a Russian intelligence officer who works in the Artemovsk direction.

“At positions north-west of Artemovsk, two enemy groups were captured. “Everyone is mobilized,” the intelligence officer said.

He explained that we are talking about soldiers of the 77th airmobile and 56th separate motorized infantry brigades of the armed forces of Ukraine.

One of the prisoners explained to the agency that they were sent to the front line for observation, while the command left them without the promised support, as a result of which they ended up in Russian captivity, but survived.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces have been conducting active offensive operations since the beginning of June, one of the directions is Artemovsk. Russian President Vladimir Putin previously called the offensive “not a slippage, but a failure.” During the plenary session WEF he stated that Ukraine has no results, while the losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces since the beginning of the counter-offensive have already amounted to 71,500 people. On September 26, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu called the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine serious. Since the beginning of September, according to him, they have amounted to over 17,000 fighters and 2,700 units of weapons and equipment.
