Senator from the Kaliningrad region Alexander Shenderyuk-Zhidkov addressed the EU in his Telegram channel with words of gratitude.
It has previously been subject to EU sanctions.
The senator thanked Brussels for putting him on the sanctions list, considering it a “high appreciation of his modest” work. He also attached a screenshot to the message, which displays his name in the list of those who fell under sanctions.
“I serve Russia!” the senator wrote.
On December 16, the European Union imposed sanctions against 22 members of the Federation Council and 20 State Duma deputies.
