Russian Railways again appealed to the EU Council to lift sanctions

Russian Railways appealed to the Council of the European Union, urging them to consider the application for the lifting of sanctions and make an “objective decision”. The company sent the first application on July 19.

“More than three months have passed since the application was submitted to the EU Council, but it has not yet been considered. However, the company was not notified of the reasons for such a long delay in consideration. This may indicate the degree of neglect and indifference with which Russian citizens are treated in the Council of the EU, ”reported on website RUSSIAN RAILWAYS.

The European Union imposed sanctions on Russian Railways on February 26 against the backdrop of a special operation in Ukraine. In an EU statement, the company statedthat the imposition of sanctions hinders the performance of “socially significant, humanitarian functions.”
