Representatives of the state corporation Roscosmos reported on Telegram that with the help of the propulsion system of the Russian cargo spacecraft Progress MS-22, the International Space Station was taken away from a collision with space debris. “The Progress spacecraft again took the ISS away from a collision with space debris. Today, the orbit of the International Space Station was adjusted using the engines of the Progress MS-22 truck to avoid a possible collision with space debris,” Roskosmos said in a publication.
The report also clarifies that in order to correct the station’s orbit, it turned out to be enough to turn on the Progress engines for less than 376 seconds.
