The Telegram channel “Roof of TurDoma” reports that pensioners from Russia spoke about humiliation at a Japanese airport due to sanctions.

As noted on the Telegram channel, the incident occurred during check-in at Tokyo airport with two Russian women who were heading to Seoul. It is noted that they were detained by Japanese customs officers, after which they were taken to a separate room, locked and ordered to take out all the currency they had.

The women complained that after this, customs officers counted all their money, including rubles, won and soms, and then inspected the contents of the suitcases. The telegram channel indicated that customs officers also forced the tourists to sign a declaration and filled out a protocol for one of the pensioners for exporting more than 2 thousand dollars from Japan.

The Russians claim that what happened was humiliating. The women emphasized that the Japanese refer to sanctions banning the export of currency to the Russian Federation. They added that they were released after two hours and their money was returned, probably because they were not flying directly to Russia, but through two countries. According to the pensioners, because of what happened they barely made it to the plane.
