“The claim that paying for an abortion will increase the number of illegal abortions is a very sly statement. Because all illegal abortions – with some, perhaps insignificant exception – are all paid. It is impossible to say: if we introduce a fee, the number of illegal abortions will increase,” the Patriarch believes.

As for paid abortions, in Russia 75% of medical abortions are performed today in private medical centers. In the future, a ban on the activities of these clinics is also possible.

Fedor Lukyanov proposed to reduce the maximum allowable term for an abortion from 12 to 8 weeks of pregnancy. Introduce into Russian legislation a provision on pre-abortion psychological counseling of the child’s parents with mandatory demonstration of the fetal heartbeat. Abortion must not be available on the day of the appeal, and a week of silence must be observed without fail.

To this end, it is proposed to legislate the Law on the Unified Status of Large Families, to assign a salary of at least 20 thousand per child to all women who bring up three children, and the profession of “mother” should be included in the register of professions.
