Russian opera singer Alexander Sibirtsev has died

Russian opera singer Alexander Sibirtsev died at the age of 88. This was reported by the Perm Opera and Ballet Theater.
“We are sad to announce that the outstanding opera singer, teacher and musical figure Alexander Sergeevich Sibirtsev passed away yesterday,” the statement says.
Sibirtsev collaborated with the theater for 20 years, from 1973 to 1993. He also performed the title role in Verdi’s opera “Othello”, Hermann in “The Queen of Spades” and many others.
In 1983, Sibirtsev became People’s Artist of the RSFSR. He taught at GITIS, as well as at universities in Perm and Samara.
