The Russian Olympic Committee was invited to the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC). This was told by the head of the Olympic Committee Stanislav Pozdnyakov. In 2022 ANOC will pass October 18–21 in Seoul.
“But we see that our voices, one way or another, are beginning to be heard. The most striking harbinger of this was the invitation of the Committee to the General Assembly of the Olympic Committees, I received an invitation to take part in the meeting of the Executive Committee. This is a good platform for discussion, for normalizing the contradictions that have arisen, I emphasize, through no fault of ours,” said Mr. Pozdnyakov (quoted by TASS).
On February 28, due to the outbreak of hostilities in Ukraine, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) recommended that international sports federations prevent Russian athletes from participating in competitions. According to Mr. Pozdnyakov, the Russian Olympic Committee maintains a dialogue with the IOC, including on the participation of Russians in the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
