The mayor of the burnt-out village of Sosva submitted a letter of resignation of his own free will

Gennady Makarov, head of the village of Sosva in the Sverdlovsk region, burned out from a severe fire, resigned. This was announced on Thursday, May 4, by the portal URA.RU citing own source. The mayor of the affected village submitted his resignation at his own request. It is known that deputies of the local Duma and representatives of the governor of the Sverdlovsk region Yevgeny Kuyvashev will consider this document on May 5.

According to unofficial data, before Makarov decided to quit, he had a difficult conversation with the governor and members of the regional government. A difficult conversation took place at the end of April – immediately after the fire and Kuyvashev’s visit to the village of Sosva. “The head was given to understand that his [чиновничья] career is over,” added a source familiar with the situation. It is possible that law enforcement agencies will become interested in Makarov’s activities in the near future.

The administration of the village of Sosva confirmed that the head of administration had indeed submitted his resignation and the local Duma would consider it on Friday, May 5.

Formerly MK informedthat almost half of the village of Sosva ceased to exist due to a fire that broke out at the end of April in the Sverdlovsk region. It was determined that two people died in the fire. As of May 1, in Sosva, employees of various services with the help of special equipment have already cleared 91 areas at the site of the fire. According to the Sverdlovsk Ministry of Transport, 32 units of road equipment operate in the village every day, including 13 dump trucks, 6 bulldozers, 5 front loaders, 3 manipulators, as well as a trawl and a truck crane. After the fire in this village, 660 people were left homeless. At the same time, rescuers were able to defend 1,200 buildings and localized the fire on an area of ​​9,000 square meters. According to Tatyana Merzlyakova, Commissioner for Human Rights in the Sverdlovsk Region, residents of Sosva who suffered from a large-scale fire have already received the first payments in the amount of 10,000 rubles.
