Servicemen of the motorized rifle company of the Dnepr group of troops, together with the unit commander, senior lieutenant Zolto Arsalanov, were presented with state awards for repelling an attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the left bank of the Dnieper. This was announced by official representative of the Russian Ministry of Defense Igor Konashenkov during a briefing on Friday.
“For the courage and heroism shown in repelling the enemy attack, the Russian Minister of Defense, Army General Sergei Shoigu, presented the unit commander and company soldiers with state awards,” said the lieutenant general.
He clarified that Russian troops repelled an attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on November 9 and destroyed military personnel of the 36th Marine Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. As a result of the fighting, a large number of Ukrainian army soldiers were killed and 11 were taken prisoner.
