According to the source, the polymer film necessary for the creation of diapers and pads turned out to be under sanctions. It is specified that one of its components is used for the manufacture of semiconductors, as a result of which sanctions were imposed on the product code assigned to it. This automatically closed access to European film for factories from the Russian Federation, and this material is not produced in the country.
Now factories are forced to buy polymer film in Saudi Arabia and China, since the customs of other countries do not allow this product to pass.
Another problem for manufacturers of hygiene products is the exemption for superabsorbent ending at the end of this year and cellulose that fell under the sanctions.
At the same time, prices for pads and diapers will not increase in 2023. Instead, manufacturers are going to shorten promotions and discount periods. At the same time, prices for hygiene items may increase at the beginning of next year.
