Russian journalist Daria Aslamova detained in Kosovo

Komsomolskaya Pravda journalist Darya Aslamova was detained in the partially recognized Republic of Kosovo on suspicion of espionage, said the head of the interior ministry of the unrecognized entity, Jelal Svechliya.

“Today, Daria Aslamova was detained at the border crossing in the north. Several countries have proven that she was spying for Russian military intelligence and that she acted undercover as a journalist,” Svechlia wrote on Facebook (owned by Meta, which is recognized as an extremist organization and banned in the Russian Federation).

Svechlia claims that the Russian journalist also participated in the fighting in Ukraine.

Earlier, the Kosovo government announced that it plans to invalidate Serbian documents on the territory of Kosovo. Serbs entering the unrecognized entity will receive a temporary border crossing document. This decision was taken by the Pristina authorities in response to Belgrade’s unwillingness to recognize certificates issued in Kosovo.

Later, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić announced that an operation was being prepared in the self-proclaimed republic against the Serbs living on its territory. On the evening of July 31, the situation escalated sharply after the police of the unrecognized republic closed the checkpoint on the administrative line with Serbia. In response, the Serbs living in the north of Kosovo took to the streets and began to build barricades on the highways. Sirens sounded in several other cities.
