The aircraft will be able to reach speeds up to 15 km/h
The project of a flying bicycle was developed by the honored inventor of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Mikhailov from Kostroma. He recently received a patent for his invention, which he called the “muscle gun”.
As the inventor told MK, to date, there is no working model of the patent yet, but parts of it are already ready. The first is, in fact, a bicycle of a special design, its author developed and patented back in 1998. In 2000, the first tests were carried out.
The peculiarity of the superbike is that the chain of its carriage transfers the efforts of the pilot not to the wheels, but to two propellers mounted on special supports welded to the vehicle frame. According to the inventor, during the tests of this iron horse, he managed to develop a speed of 35 kilometers per hour, which is a record. This was achieved due to the special design of the screw equipment: the screws are located side by side, but spin in opposite directions. Similarly, they are located and used by designers of aircraft, helicopters and motors for motor boats.
Back in those years, Mikhailov designed his muscle plane, but patented it only after he bought the second part for his brainchild in 2021 – a hang glider, which should become a monowing of an aircraft. On a special rack, the inventor will strengthen it over the “bicycle”, after which it will be possible to go on an air journey. The author of the development planned to make it last summer, but due to the load on the main job (invention is his hobby), he did not have time to complete the creation of the muscle car. According to his calculations, the aircraft will be able to reach speeds of up to 15 km / h and lift up to 90 kg of payload.
