26-year-old Provorov is a graduate of Yaroslavl Lokomotiv. In 2015, he signed with the Philadelphia NHL. He made his debut for the team in the 2016/2017 season. With the Russian team, he became the bronze medalist of the World Cup in 2017.
In addition to Provorov, four Russians also play in Columbus – forwards Yegor Chinakhov, Kirill Marchenko, goalkeeper Daniil Tarasov, and forward Dmitry Voronkov, who recently arrived at the club from Ak Bars.
At the end of the NHL season, Columbus took the last, 16th place in the Eastern Conference table, and Philadelphia – 14th place. Both teams did not qualify for the playoffs.
