Russian-Georgian trade turnover decreased due to a reduction in imports from the Russian Federation

In 2023, the total volume of trade turnover between Georgia and Russia amounted to $2.401 billion. This is slightly lower than the 2022 figure – $2.478 billion. This was reported by the National Statistics Service of Georgia (Geostat).
The department specifies that last year Georgia imported $1.744 billion worth of products from the Russian Federation. This is less than the 2022 figure — $1.835 billion. At the same time, exports from Georgia to Russia increased slightly, but increased — $657 million ($642.4 million in 2022).
According to Geostat, last year Georgia imported $552.1 million worth of oil and petroleum products from the Russian Federation, $131.1 million worth of hydrocarbons, $56.2 million worth of grain, $48.6 million worth of glass containers, etc.
Natural wines worth $168.3 million, ethyl alcohol and other alcohol-containing drinks (vodka, brandy) – $67.4 million, cars – $67.1 million, mineral and fresh waters – $61.8 million were exported from Georgia to the Russian Federation. lemonade – $60.7 million.
Turkey is still in first place among Georgia’s trading partners, but the Russian Federation holds first place in terms of the volume of Georgian exports.
