Russian Foreign Ministry: The West will try to win other countries over to Kyiv’s side in Davos

The meeting of world leaders in Davos will be used by the West to win over the countries of the global South and East to Ukraine’s side through deception and blackmail. Official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova warned about this on Wednesday, January 10.
The speaker of the Russian Foreign Ministry expressed her conviction that Russia’s partners in Asia, Africa and Latin America are fully aware of the real state of affairs and will not allow themselves to be drawn into openly anti-Russian initiatives.
Zakharova recalled that Moscow has more than once pointed out the inferiority, hypocrisy and isolation from reality of the “peace formula” of the Kyiv regime and the meetings that are aimed at promoting it.
In Davos, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky is scheduled to speak at the World Economic Forum (WEF), which will be held from January 15 to 19. Kyiv invited representatives of hundreds of countries around the world to discuss Zelensky’s “peace formula” in Davos, and Russia is not on the list of invitees.
Swiss Permanent Representative to the UN Pascale Christine Beriswil clarified that this discussion is expected to be held in Davos before the start of the WEF events on January 14.
In December 2023, the head of the French Patriots party, Florian Philippot, expressed the opinion that Zelensky’s Western “masters” in Davos in 2024 would convince him to begin peace negotiations with Moscow. The politician emphasized that the West is taking these steps, realizing the failure of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ counter-offensive and believing that “the case is gone”.
