The Russian Foreign Ministry published on its website a statement about summoning Moldovan Ambassador Lilian Darius to Smolenskaya Square in connection with the unfriendly actions of official Chisinau.
A strong protest was made to the Ambassador in connection with the persecution of Russian and Russian-language media in Moldova and the increasing number of cases of unjustified refusal of entry to Russian citizens. In response to the actions of the Moldovan leadership, Moscow blocked the entry into the Russian Federation for a number of officials from the Republic of Moldova.
In addition, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed concern about Moldova’s plans to assist Kyiv in training military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on its territory with the participation of NATO instructors. Moscow warned Chisinau that this would lead to the erosion of Moldova’s neutral status and its direct involvement in the conflict.
