Russian Foreign Ministry: the fate of the negotiations on Transnistria will become clear after the settlement in Ukraine

In order to return to negotiations on the fate of Transnistria, it is necessary first to end the conflict in Ukraine. This was stated by Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Galuzin. Now it is premature to discuss the situation in the 5+2 format, the diplomat believes.
Recall that “5 + 2” includes Russia, Ukraine, the OSCE, Moldova and Transnistria itself, as well as observers from the EU and the States.
According to Galuzin, it is important to comply with the agreements reached. But in this matter, so far, everything has stood still without progress.
“It is necessary to increase the dynamics and productivity of meetings of political representatives of the two banks of the Dniester, as well as meetings of their joint sectoral working groups,” Galuzin stressed.
In the meantime, according to the diplomat, the old problems remain, and new ones are added to them.
Earlier, the head of the Information and Security Service of Moldova, Alexandru Musteata, said in an interview with TVR Moldova about the development of the alleged scenario of Russia’s “invasion” into the republic in early 2023. According to Musteata, the security services are now analyzing several scenarios in which Russian troops will move towards Moldova through northern Ukraine.
