Iran is not a party to the conflict in Ukraine and considers threats against it “irresponsible rhetoric.” This was stated during a press conference by the official representative of the country’s Foreign Ministry, Nasser Kanaani.
“The accusation of one, the other, Iran will not help Ukraine, its people and leadership. We reject the accusations of the Ukrainian leadership,” he said. Also, the representative of the Foreign Ministry added that Tehran is ready to help resolve the crisis and establish peace in Ukraine.
At the same time, the Iranian authorities consider irresponsible the threatening rhetoric that comes from Kyiv. According to Kanaani, the Ukrainian authorities bear full responsibility for the legal and political consequences of their statements.
Earlier, Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of Volodymyr Zelensky’s office, announced the need to move away from “non-working sanctions” against Iran and destroy Iranian arms factories.
Kyiv has repeatedly accused Tehran of supplying weapons, including drones, to Russia. Iranian and Russian authorities refute these statements.
