The advanced combat experience of the Russian army, gained during a special military operation in Ukraine, will be introduced into the practice of combat training of the armed forces of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). This, in particular, was discussed at a meeting of the CSTO Military Committee, which was held on April 12 under the chairmanship of the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Army General Valery Gerasimov.

“We agreed to introduce advanced combat experience into the training of the CSTO Troops (Collective Forces),” said the chief of the Russian General Staff. The meeting presented, in particular, modern approaches to organizing the use of unmanned aerial vehicles and countering them with electronic warfare, based on the experience gained during a special military operation in Ukraine.

The event was held via video conferencing. It was attended by delegations of the General Staffs of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, as well as representatives of the Joint Staff and the CSTO Secretariat. Representatives of Armenia did not take part in the meeting of the Military Council.

In 2024, the CSTO countries will conduct exercises of the CSTO Peacekeeping Forces “Indestructible Brotherhood” on the territory of Kazakhstan; joint exercises with the Collective Rapid Reaction Force “Interaction” on the territory of Kyrgyzstan; exercises of logistics forces “Echelon”; reconnaissance exercise “Search”; joint exercises with units of the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces of the Central Asian region “Rubezh-2024” in Tajikistan.
