Russian esportsmen were allowed to compete under their own flag

Delegates of the International Computer Sports Federation (IESF) voted to cancel the decision that Russian athletes could not compete in international competitions under their own flag. About it reported Computer Sports Federation (FCS) of Russia.
32 out of 70 delegates who took part in the voting supported the reversal of the decision. 13 voted against, 25 abstained. Now the Russian esports team will be able to compete under its own flag and name. The proposal of the Federation of Computer Sports of Ukraine to suspend the membership of the FCS of Russia in the IESF was also rejected by the delegates.
The President of the FCS of Russia, Dmitry Smith, emphasized that any form of discrimination against athletes on the basis of nationality and any other grounds is unacceptable, so Russian cybersportsmen are glad that the national team will again compete under their own flag.
In December 2022, the International Esports Federation allowed Russians participate in the World Cup only in a neutral status and without national symbols. Then, 19 out of 69 members of the federation voted for the complete lifting of sanctions.
