Esportsmen Daniil “Putrick” Abdrakhmanov and Egor “Swizzy” Lusiko, who won the championship in the computer game Fortnite, but did not receive a prize of two hundred thousand dollars because they were disqualified on the basis of Russian citizenship, reports sportskeeda.com.
Epic Games stated that Russia is on the list of countries with restricted access to prizes.
Abdrakhmanov and Lusiko indicated that they live and play from Belarus, which is not included in this list, but this did not influence the decision.
On August 28, the International Esports Federation allowed Russian esports athletes to take part in international tournaments under the national flag and anthem.
