Russian Embassy: Japan may worsen relations with Russia to a critical point

Acting head of the Russian diplomatic mission in Japan, Gennady Ovechko, said that relations between Moscow and Tokyo have deteriorated recently.
According to him, relations are influenced by the course chosen by the Japanese authorities, as well as the dismantling of the accumulated positive experience. All this can lead to the fact that the temperature of bilateral relations may drop to critical levels and “the thermometer may burst.”
He specified that last year Russian-Japanese relations “subjected to a shock freeze.” It was deliberately carried out by representatives of Tokyo, under the leadership of the United States of America.
“Having set a course for the total dismantling of the accumulated positive baggage, the Fumio Kishida administration does not understand that such behavior as a result can lead to a blow to Japan itself, its business and local residents,” Ovechko said.
