Russian diplomats in the United States were once again not allowed into the Fort Richardson military memorial cemetery, RIA Novosti reports, citing a statement from the Russian Embassy in the United States.
It is noted that the American authorities ignored previously submitted requests.
The report states that during the departure, employees of the Russian diplomatic mission provided consular services to Russian citizens in Anchorage (Alaska) and Seattle (Washington). More than a thousand people received services.
As the department noted, during the trips it was planned to visit the Fort Richardson military memorial cemetery and honor the memory of Soviet pilots and sailors who died in Alaska in 1942-1945, but the American side prevented this. At the same time, flowers were laid at the war veterans memorial in the center of Anchorage, as well as the grave of Red Navy soldier Mikhail Anisimov at the Evergreen Vashelli cemetery in Seattle.
The Russian diplomatic mission noted that it has encountered such behavior from the American authorities for the second year in a row.
