The report states that “a military contractor associated with the Ministry of Defense is ready to take over the leadership of operations in the CAR.” The name of the contractor and the source of the information were not disclosed. It also mentions visits by military delegations to Libya and Syria to “assert government control” over operations formerly under contract with Wagner.
The publication notes that the inclusion of the Wagnerites in official structures will deprive the Russian authorities of the opportunity to distance themselves from their actions. However, it will allow maintaining and even strengthening Russia’s influence in a number of countries.
