Roscosmos cosmonaut Alexander Gorbunov has been appointed to the crew of the US manned spacecraft Crew Dragon. In August, it will travel to the International Space Station (ISS) as part of the SpaceX Crew-9 mission. About it reported press service of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
The crew, in addition to Alexander Gorbunov, will include three NASA astronauts – crew commander Zena Cardman, pilot Nick Haig and mission specialist Stephanie Wilson. For Mr. Gorbunov, the flight planned for August will be the first in his career.

An agreement on cross-flights of three Russian cosmonauts on the Crew Dragon manned spacecraft and three US astronauts on the Russian Soyuz MS manned spacecraft was signed in July 2022. This agreement implied flights from 2022 to 2024. In December 2023, the agreement was extended until 2025 for two more cross-flights.
