Russian boxer Evgeny Tishchenko defeated Leon Hart from Germany at the IBA Champions Night tournament. He became the world champion according to the Noah Boxing Association (WBA) in a new weight category – bridgerweight (up to 101.6 kg). The fight, which took place in Dubai, ended with the Russian winning by knockout in the sixth round.
The 32-year-old Tishchenko now has 13 wins (8 by knockout) and 1 defeat. He is an Olympic champion (2016), world champion (2015), silver medalist at the World Championship (2013), European champion (2015, 2017). Former WBC International and WBO Inter-Continental champion. The 35-year-old Hart has 22 wins (13 by knockout), 6 losses and 1 draw.
In other fights of the IBA Champions Night tournament, Russians Muslim Gadzhimagomedov and Mark Petrovsky won Arthur Mann (Germany) and Lucas Braun (Australia), respectively. The first fight ended with a technical knockout in the eighth round, the second – with a technical knockout in the fourth round.
