Russian Be-200 flew to Turkey to put out forest fires

Two Russian Be-200ChS amphibious aircraft flew to Turkey to assist in extinguishing forest fires. This was reported on Tuesday, July 18, in the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation.
The department clarified that Ankara had received a corresponding request, after which Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed to help Turkish colleagues.
Be-200 planes took off from the Rostov Platov airport to the Turkish cities of Mugla and Izmir to extinguish large forest fires.
Earlier it was reported that in the south of Turkey in the province of Hatay, the population was evacuated due to a forest fire. They cannot cope with the fire in the area of the city of Belen (Hatay province). Turkish firefighters use helicopters, however because of the wind the fire intensifies.
Turkish media reported that President Recep Tayyip Erdogan wants to discuss with Russian President Vladimir Putin acquisition of Russian amphibious aircraftwhich have proven themselves as a highly effective means of fighting fire in open areas.
