At the training center of the Russian Aerospace Forces, pilots will begin to be trained in the use of aerial bombs with universal planning and correction modules (UMPC), it was reported “RIA News” with reference to the source. It is alleged that aerial bombs will be used in the combat zone in Ukraine.

“A batch of front-line Su-34 bombers was recently transferred to one of the training centers of the aerospace forces, which will be used for mass training of pilots in the use of air bombs with UMPC in the special operation zone. This will make it possible to increase the number of pilots who know how to use these munitions and to increase strikes with “smart aerial bombs” on Ukrainian military targets,” the agency quotes the interlocutor as saying.

According to the source, UMPCs have already been tested in a combat zone, where they “have shown high efficiency.” He claims that at a low cost, aerial bombs provide “high-precision destruction of targets of Ukrainian troops on the line of combat contact.”

The UMPC is attached to a conventional free-falling bomb, turning it into a controlled one. Due to the module’s high range, the carrier aircraft does not enter the enemy’s air defense coverage area. The last time the Russian Ministry of Defense reported the use of guided munitions was in early August.
