A postage stamp dedicated to the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Yevgeny Zinichev, who died in 2021, will go into circulation with a circulation of 60,000 on August 18. This was announced by the head of the State Duma committee on information policy, a member of the board of directors of Russian Post, Alexander Khinshtein.

Evgeny Zinichev died September 8, 2021. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Mr. Zinichev died “during an interdepartmental exercise to protect the Arctic zone, saving a person.” According to Novaya Gazeta, the minister, together with film director Alexander Melnik, approached a cliff in the Putoransky Reserve, after which one of them stumbled, and the other tried to grab him by his clothes, but could not hold on to the wet stones.
By decree of the President of Russia, Evgeny Zinichev was awarded the title of Hero of Russia posthumously. In September 2021, Evgeny Zinichev Square was opened in St. Petersburg. In December 2022, a monument dedicated to the former head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations was opened in Moscow.
