The military prosecutor’s office of the Western Military District of the Vladimir garrison appealed to the Leninsky District Court with a demand to restrict access to the American social network Reddit, it follows from the data of the court file.

The prosecutor asks to restrict access to the entertainment portal https://www.reddit.com, follows from the case card. The corresponding lawsuit was filed on April 6, the reason for the blocking request was not disclosed.

A court hearing has been scheduled for May 11.

In February, Vladimir’s prosecutor’s office already applied to the court with a request to block YouTube. Later, a representative of the press service of the prosecutor’s office clarified that the purpose of filing a lawsuit was not to block the entire video hosting, but only certain information on it.

In the same month, the head of the control and supervision department in the field of electronic communications at Roskomnadzor, Yevgeny Zaitsev, said that the agency was ready to discuss the issue of complete or partial blocking of the Twitch streaming platform (owned by Amazon) in Russia. Then Zaitsev said that the service had already been fined 21 million rubles. for not deleting illegal information.
