Russia may flood its segment of the ISS after 2030

When Russia withdraws from the International Space Station (ISS) project, the Russian segment may be separated and flooded. Such a statement was made by the general director of Roskosmos, Yuri Borisov, at the Share Your Knowledge marathon.
“The Russian segment will most likely be undocked and correctly flooded,” Borisov said.
He added that in agreement with the colleagues on the program at the station until 2030, research can be continued.
On June 30, the head of Roscosmos announced that the ISS will cease to exist in its current form after 2030.
On April 25, the state corporation informed its partners about the extension of Russia’s participation in the ISS project for another five years.
According to Borisov, the exit from the ISS project should go hand in hand with the beginning of the formation of a new Russian orbital station. The first stage of the ROS is planned for 2027-2030, and construction is planned to be completed in 2032.
On April 10, Andrei Elchaninov, First Deputy General Director of Roskosmos, told the Interfax news agency that more than 600 billion rubles would be spent on the construction of the Roskosmos.
