Russia is preparing a project to launch a spacecraft beyond the solar system

Experts are preparing an experiment to launch a device beyond the solar system, said Vladimir Koshlakov, general director of the Keldysh Center (part of Roscosmos), at the educational marathon “Knowledge” as part of the exhibition-forum “Russia”.

“A project is being formed to study interstellar space and a space experiment is being prepared with the flight of a device beyond the solar system,” said the head of the center. According to him, the device will use the most powerful plasma engine in the world, created by the enterprise.

Roscosmos General Director Yuri Borisov stated that Russia should withdraw from the International Space Station (ISS) project at the moment when the deployment of the Russian Orbital Station (ROS) begins.

In the summer of 2022, Borisov reported to Russian President Vladimir Putin about Roscosmos’ planned withdrawal from the ISS project and the development of ROS. Its construction is planned for 2027–2032. India is considering the possibility of building its own module on ROS, but the country has not yet made an exact decision.

At the beginning of October this year, Borisov stated, that the extension of Russia’s participation in the ISS project after February 16, 2028 will depend on its technical condition. He clarified that if the countries participating in the ISS project decide to complete it by that time, then through joint efforts the station will be correctly removed from orbit.
