Two of Bloomberg’s sources said “no breakthrough has been achieved” and another meeting could take place later this week.
Today, August 15, the Central Bank (CB) announced an unscheduled meeting on the rate. Immediately after that, the ruble strengthened to 92 rubles. to the dollar and up to 103 rubles. to the euro. The Central Bank immediately raised the rate by 3.5 percentage points, to 12%. The ruble reacted with a decrease: the dollar exchange rate on the Moscow Exchange at the moment rose above 99 rubles, the euro rose by 0.59%, to 107.6 rubles.
