Political scientist Zhivov: due to mobilization, Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers began to surrender more often
Soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) began to surrender more often. This was stated by political scientist and military expert Alexey Zhivov. He linked this fact with increased mobilization in Ukraine, writes “Lenta.ru”.
According to him, by surrendering, Ukrainians choose life, because many of them were forcibly mobilized and did not want to fight.
“If they are given the opportunity to surrender under normal, humane conditions, then, of course, they do it,” the expert said, adding that Russian military personnel rarely surrender.
Zhivov also added that mobilized Ukrainians are used as “assault fodder,” which in no way motivates them to participate in hostilities. The military expert said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are protecting their personnel units, officers and sergeants, “using everyone they don’t mind for the assault.”
According to him, the lack of success at the front also leads to demoralization of the army.
Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported capture of Ukrainian soldiers during the assault on their positions in the Kupyansk direction. It is clarified that Russian attack aircraft easily occupied an enemy stronghold, provided assistance to wounded Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers and sent a group of enemy soldiers to their rear.
